What Is It?
The Odds Calculator is the most fundamental tool in the suite. It takes a set of odds in either decimal or fractional format, combines them with a stake amount, and instantly shows you the potential return and profit from a winning bet.
It also supports each-way betting, which splits your stake into two parts: one on the selection to win and one on the selection to place (finish in the top positions). Each-way bets use a fraction of the win odds (typically 1/4 or 1/5) for the place portion.
This tool is ideal for beginners who want to understand what their potential payout is before placing a bet, or for experienced bettors who need a quick conversion between odds formats.
How to Use
Formulas & Data Sources
All calculations are performed client-side using standard betting mathematics. No external data is fetched.
Fractional to Decimal conversion: Decimal = (Numerator / Denominator) + 1. For example, 6/4 = 1.5 + 1 = 2.50.
Real-World Scenarios
You want to bet $50 on a horse at odds of 5.00 (4/1). Enter the odds and stake. The calculator shows:
You now know your upside before committing.
You back a horse at 10.00 (9/1) each-way with a $10 stake (total outlay $20) at 1/4 odds, 3 places. Win return = $100. Place odds = (9 x 0.25) + 1 = 3.25, so place return = $32.50.
Bookmaker A offers 1.91 and Bookmaker B offers 11/6 on the same outcome. Convert both to decimal: 11/6 = 2.833.
The calculator helps you make this comparison instantly.
Frequently Asked Questions
QWhat's the difference between decimal and fractional odds?
Decimal odds represent the total payout per $1 staked (including your stake). Fractional odds represent only the profit. 2.50 decimal = 6/4 fractional ā both pay $2.50 total for every $1 bet.
QDoes the calculator support American odds?
Currently, the calculator supports Decimal and Fractional formats. American odds can be manually converted: positive American (+150) = (150/100) + 1 = 2.50 decimal; negative American (-200) = (100/200) + 1 = 1.50 decimal.
QWhat does each-way mean?
An each-way bet is two bets in one: a win bet and a place bet. Your total stake is doubled. The place part pays out at a fraction of the win odds (usually 1/4 or 1/5) if your selection finishes in the top positions.
QWhere does the data come from?
All calculations are local ā no data is fetched from external sources. You input the odds from your bookmaker and the tool computes the returns.
